| ... are glorious! I had the best four day weekend, perhaps ever. Quick recap: On Friday, Tyler and I went to my cousin's wedding. It was nice to see my family as always, and amusing to see my Mom get tipsy. Over Saturday and Sunday, I nearly finished cleaning the house and unpacking. Saturday also saw the third installment of Joelopalooza, which was made extra delightful by the return of many out of town friends. Sunday after a large brunch at Kermit's, I spent most of the evening hanging out and catching up with Paul. And to top things off, on Sunday, Eric, Tyler and I spent the day in Ann Arbor. Tyler and I bought a lovely new hookah. It is hand-painted by Egyptian children and everything. I am kind of in love with it. All in all, it was absolutely amazing to have four days free of work, class, and other responsibilities. I believe I spent them all well.
In other news, I cannot quite believe I am a senior in college. We're already into the third week. I am happy with both my new classes and my new job though, so so far senior year is looking bright. Speaking of new job, I am officially an employee of University Dining Services. However, I am working at the only bar on campus, the Black Swamp Pub, which is actually quite fun. At least I am enjoying it far more than the last two jobs. And I am living out a dream that I have had since I was nineteen, since I get to bartend pretty frequently.
Finally, I turn twenty-two in fifteen days. That is dangerously close to my mid-twenties and impending adulthood. Disturbing...

| So, apparently the country is stuck in the middle of a massive heat wave. Gross. And I am currently staying in a musty apartment that lacks air conditioning. Also gross. I can't wait until my house is ready, in about a week.
On a lighter note, this weekend I am going to King's Island with my parents (and Jen) and Tyler. I can't wait to get out of BG for a few days. Also on a happy note, I have been reunited with Harry Potter, my faithful sidekick (and cat). That's good news.
Also, in a week I will finally be able to quit my job, which is awful. The restaurant is nice, the boss is crazy. And I'm not talking run of the mill my boss is a jerk. He is truly one of the most disagreeable people I have ever met. But I start a new job on the 16th at the Black Swamp Pub, so all will be well.

| This morning I awoke to find the following cryptic post on my Facebook wall:
"ERIN! YOU COMPLETE THE TRIANGLE!!!!!"
After some quick sleuthing, I finally discovered what triangle I complete. (The answer came in the form of another wall post, both from my friend Jason Lemmon).
"BUT yes, the triangle... I [Jason] have the same, birthday as John Stamos,
and my friend Josh from work has the same birthday as Bob Saget. So all
we needed was to find someone with the same birthday as Dave Coulier. I
did a facebook search for it and, sure enough, you [me, er, Erin] were the sole person
of my friends who held that date. That means that the triangle is now
complete, and that you, Josh and I are now the Full House Trio."
HA!

| I just stumbled across this quote. It makes me feel a little better right now.
"You have four years to be irresponsible here. Relax. Work is for
people with jobs. You'll never remember class time, but you'll remember
the time you wasted hanging out with your friends. So, stay out late,
go out on a Tuesday with your friends when you have a paper due
Wednesday. Spend money you don't have. Drink 'til sunrise. The work
never ends, but college does."

| It's that time again... obligatory semester review!
So, Sizzling Summer '07 is off to a good start. There is a LOT going on, though. The new job is going well so far, I really like the restaurant. And all of my co-workers are super nice. All things considered, I couldn't be happier at Naslada. I really think it's the best restaurant in BG; the food is amazing and it's all pretty cheap.
Internship at the bookstore starts next week. Right now, I'm doing two days a week there. Gas prices are going to kill me if I try to do any more, I think. But I'm looking forward to spending so much time at People Called Women. For my first day I'll be helping with a Toledo NOW meeting, so that should be fun.
On top of the new job and the new internship, on Tuesday we moved into a new apartment. I'm living with Tyler for the summer. So far so good, but I can't wait to be finished unpacking. And I'm not looking forward to moving again in three months. Oh! One more new thing. We had been talking about adopting another cat for a while, hoping that a playmate would make Harry a little more behaved. So last week I got Tyler a five week old kitten, as a housewarming present. Her name is Penelope, and she fits in my hands. Seriously, I have never in my life seen a smaller cat. But she is both hilarious and adorable.
After PCW today, I stopped by Rama Lama Records, which is conveniently located next door. I bought Pet Sounds by the Beach Boys, which is a summer classic (fun fact: The Beach Boys was my first concert, at seven years old). I also picked up Feist's new CD, which promises to be good as well. I feel like working next to Rama Lama can only lead to me spending a ton of money there over the summer. While Tyler and I were in Toledo, we also discovered an organic deli and bakery near Claudia's Market. I sense that I will also be frequenting both of these businesses, what with being in Toledo so often.
I think that sufficiently brings us up to date. That said, have a good summer!
